Portfolio Consultancy Service for:

- GCE Applied Business / Applied Health and Social Care

- GCSE/ELQ Learning For Life and Work

As part of its support service to centres offering the above courses, CCEA is providing a Portfolio Consultancy Service in November. This service will provide feedback at a formative stage on aspects of the internal assessment process to enable teachers to mark portfolios confidently.

  • Centres are invited to submit to CCEA samples of work that have been provisionally assessed by the teacher for consideration by the subject Principal Moderator/Assistant Principal Moderator.
  • Only photocopied samples of candidates’ assignments should be submitted – ORIGINAL WORK MUST NOT BE SENT .
  • No more than three samples per unit per subject should be submitted and if possible should represent a range of mark bands.
  • Plans and suggested portfolio titles are also welcome for comment/guidance.

For each subject/component please complete one of the enclosed Portfolio Consultancy Service Submission forms and return it with your samples, using the prepaid envelopes or other suitable packaging to: Portfolio Consultancy, Moderation Section, CCEA, 29 Clarendon Road , Clarendon Dock, BELFAST , BT1 3BG . Should you need additional submission forms, please feel free to use photocopies. The closing date for submissions is Friday 28 October 2005 .

  • CCEA will dispatch feedback to Centres in mid-November.
  • Details of February 2006 Portfolio Consultancy Services will be dispatched in January.
