Unit 9: Internal Assessment Assignments
Further Information

Dear Colleague,

Following some enquiries regarding the AS 9 assignments you may find the following information useful in the preparation of candidates for AS 9:

  • The upper limit for the word length of assignments is 1750 words. Please note that in A-level this includes any quotations used. Footnotes, endnotes and the bibliography are not counted.
  • The collection date for AS 9 assignments for summer 2005 entries is Thursday 28 th April. They will be collected by Parcelforce from your centre on that date. If your centre has any external candidates you must inform these candidates of this date. External candidates should hand in their assignments at least a week prior to this date so that the examinations officer can get them parcelled up to send to CCEA.
  • Entry codes for AS 9 can be found in the current Examinations Administration Handbook that your examinations officer will have a copy of. Codes are found in Section F, page F7.
  • A teacher guide for AS 9 was distributed to all centres in November 2004. If you do not have access to this it is now available for downloading from www.ccea.org.uk
