GCSE Motor Vehicle and Road User Studies Practical Riding Test

The Suzuki Katona has been introduced into some centres to replace older vehicles or for new centres teaching GCSE MVRUS.

It is difficult for pupils to complete the figure eight and skills test in the practical riding test when using the Suzuki Katona to the measurements laid out in the specification. Centres using the Suzuki Katona should therefore use the following dimensions when carrying out the practical riding test:

1 Skills test – all cones should be set at 3 metres.

2 Figure eight – box should be 11 metres by 4 metres.

NB: There is no need to change the dimensions for the controlled braking test.

These changes are the same as that used for the Honda Sky. The above measurements will be implemented in the assessment of practical riding skills for summer 2005.
