Northern Ireland Screen

Northern Ireland Screen is the government-backed lead agency in Northern Ireland for the film, television and digital content industry, driving global growth through boosting our economy, celebrating our culture and enhancing our children's education.

In pursuit of its mission, to accelerate the development of a dynamic and sustainable screen industry and culture in Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland Screen offers focused intervention in the following areas:

  • Production and development funding for film, television and digital content;
  • A free information service and production support for filming in Northern Ireland, including locations FAM trips for incoming productions; help with sourcing crews and facilities; studio facilities including 2 new purpose-built sound stages;
  • Marketing Northern Ireland as a worldwide production location and promoting its product and talent;
  • Financial assistance for training and skills development;
  • Investment in film education, heritage and archive, film festivals and cultural cinema.

Northern Ireland Screen is funded by Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI) and part financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the European Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland; the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL); and it is delegated by the Arts Council of NI (ACNI) to administer Lottery funding for film in Northern Ireland.

CCEA

The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) was established on 1 April 1994 and is a non-departmental public body reporting to the Department of Education in Northern Ireland.

CCEA places itself at the heart of the Northern Ireland community ensuring its products and services meet the needs of all learners.

The Nerve Centre

The Nerve Centre is an award winning multimedia arts centre which is engaged in providing access to facilities, training, education, exhibition and production for many young people in Derry and Northern Ireland.

What began in the late 1980’s as a self-help initiative of young musicians and film makers is one of the key dynamics fuelling the arts and digital media sectors in Northern Ireland today. Since its inception, the Nerve Centre has pioneered the digital age’s technology through education, training and production.

The Nerve Centre is a unique experience for all those who visit and the buzzing atmosphere of creativity and expectation, has been heightened even further with the addition of a coffeehouse, cinema, bar and venue, all housed in a purpose built arts and multimedia center.
