Please note that for assessment purposes, centres can only submit complete units, i.e. for Speaking - two tasks and for Writing - two tasks.
GCSE Languages Controlled Assessment (Writing)
The collection date for the GCSE Languages Controlled Assessment (Writing) tasks will be Friday 4th May 2012. Please have the tasks ready for collection by Parcelforce.
We use controlled assessment to assess students’ speaking and writing abilities. Students must complete two controlled assessment speaking tasks and two writing tasks. Each task focuses on one of the three contexts in the specification.
Teachers can either:
- choose and set tasks from our list;
- adapt our suggested tasks; or
- design tasks of their own (within parameters detailed in Appendix 1 of the specification).
There is a list of exemplar tasks in Appendix 1 of the specification.
We replace our exemplar tasks every two years. Similarly, centres using their own tasks for speaking and writing must replace these at least every two years. These tasks are available in summer only.
