In GCSE Business and Communication Systems, 25 percent of the marks are awarded for controlled assessment. The controlled assessment tests students on their knowledge and understanding of Unit 3: E-Commerce. The teacher marks the students’ work and we moderate it.
Students have an overall limit of 30 hours in which to design a website and explain its business rationale through a PowerPoint presentation. This involves the following six tasks:
| Task 1: Project Planning | (2 hours) |
| Task 2: Research of E-Business and E-Commerce | (4 hours) |
| Task 3: PowerPoint Presentation | (4 hours) |
| Task 4: Evaluation of Existing E-Commerce Sites | (4 hours) |
| Task 5: Development of Website | (8 hours) |
| Task 6: Evaluation | (8 hours) |
We review our controlled assessment tasks every year.
