In GCSE Chemistry, students' coursework is carried out through hands-on investigative and experimental work conducted in class.

All coursework is set and assessed by the teacher. Teachers assess students on the following three skill areas:

  • planning experimental procedures;
  • obtaining evidence; and
  • interpreting and evaluating.

Coursework accounts for 25 percent of the students' final marks.
