Revised GCSE in Construction and the Built Environment
This revised specification for GCSE Construction and the Built Environment is available for first teaching from September 2009. We will make the first awards in 2011.
Through studying this specification, students develop knowledge and understanding of the construction industry. They also develop and practise some of the craft, computer aided design (CAD) and technical skills that are widely used in the construction industry. Students have opportunities to apply their developing knowledge and skills in relevant, enjoyable and work-related contexts.
This specification prepares students for further education, training or employment in the construction industry. It helps them to develop and practise key transferable skills that are important in working life.
