Three assessment units must be offered for summative assessment.
One compulsory unit (Scripted Performance) must be offered.
Two additional units from the list below must be offered:
- Option Unit 1: Devised Performance
- Option Unit 2: improvisation
- Option Unit 3: Dance Drama
- Option Unit 4: Mime
- Option unit 5: Practical Exploration of the Set Text.
No Unit can be offered twice
For each internally Assessed Unit, candidates will prepare a performance and perform it to an audience. The performance should last between ten and thirty minutes depending on the size of the group.
Compulsory Internally Assessed Unit – Scripted Performance
This unit requires pupils to select and engage with a published play that contrasts with their set text in terms of culture and period. Example of the sorts of plays that would be appropriate for use in this unit are given in Appendix 7 of the Specification
