GCSE Drama Moderation - Record of Marks Awarded

Students must complete two controlled assessment tasks. Each task is worth 30 percent of the final award. Teachers assess the controlled tasks and we moderate them. They are available in summer only.
Students’ tasks must include:
- Compulsory Element: Scripted Performance; and
- one element from the following choices:
- Devised Performance;
- Improvisation;
- Dance Drama;
- Mime; or
- Design Support (costume, set, lighting or multimedia design).
Students must complete all tasks under the teacher’s direct supervision. There is a minimum of 15 hours for the exploration, performance and evaluation of each task.
For each assessment task, students must work in groups of 3–9 to prepare a performance for an audience. The students’ performances should last for the specified time and include an evaluation through appraisal.
