FAQs

Can I enter two different levels in one academic year?

Yes. There are two entry periods each year: October and February. If you register for the October entry period, moderation will take place the following January. If you register for the February entry period, moderation will take place in June.

You can choose to enter for Level 1 beginning in September for moderation the following January, and choose Level 2 beginning in January for moderation in June. Your work must be completed within each moderation period

Can I take a full academic year to complete my four units?

Yes. If you begin the qualification in September, you will have until the following May to complete all the work ready for moderation in June.

If you choose to work through the academic year, you need to register in February.

What must I do to complete the full qualification?

To achieve the full qualification and receive your certificate, you must complete all four units by the time of the external moderation.

How is my work marked?

You will build up a portfolio of evidence for all four units. Your teacher/tutor will assess each unit. Your centre will check your work to ensure that it meets all the required standards. Then we will moderate a sample of work to ensure that specification requirements have been met and the evidence produced is your own, valid and reliable.

What happens if there is a problem with my work?

You should discuss the problem with your teacher/tutor. If you are not satisfied, you should be able to access your centre’s internal policy for appealing the decision. Your centre co-ordinator will advise you about further action to take if you are unhappy with the final outcome.
