Entry Level English targets the needs and abilities of students who have not achieved Level 3 by the end of Key Stage 3. Engagement with the Talking and Listening element of this course affords students opportunities to work independently, as well as in partnership with peers and teachers. The Reading requirements ensure that students engage with a range of literary texts, and some non-literary and/or media texts. Students will undertake a range of imaginative and transactional writing tasks and assignments, targeting a variety of audiences of different ages.
Overall, the course is designed to enable students to develop the literacy and communication skills which they will need as adults, not least in their working lives.
