Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where does Entry Level History lie in relation to other qualifications in History?
A. Entry Level is at level one on the National Qualifications Framework and is perfect for those students who are interested in, and enthusiastic about, history yet do not wish to study it at GCSE level.
Q. My students do not respond well to traditional formal examinations. Are there other methods of assessment?
A. There are seven internally set and internally assessed pieces of work required for the qualification, so students can work at a pace that suits them and produce work in a less rigidly time-controlled environment.
Q. History sounds very text driven. Is that the case?
A. Teachers of Entry Level remark that it engages students not only through traditional written material but also through an abundance of visual stimulus. The course presents a variety of techniques and approaches designed to enthuse and stimulate the students. Students can deliver their assignments in creative, innovative ways and employ technology to enhance their findings.
