For how long are the coursework tasks valid?
The spreadsheet and database tasks are normally valid for 2 years. The other tasks will not go out of date.
Do students need to print coursework in colour?
Students do not have to print in colour and will not be penalised if they don’t make use of a colour printer. However if the skill being marked refers to colour then printouts must be annotated by the students. Teachers must confirm that these notes are the student’s work.
Can I submit electronic versions of students work?
At present some centres are involved in an electronic submission trial. Only centres that are involved in the trial can submit electronic versions of students work.
Can I let a student sit exams for a different ICT Course than they are entered for?
No. Students may only be entered for one tier at a time and can only sit the tier which they have been entered for.
Can I let an entire class do coursework on the same topic?
Yes but each individual candidate must present a unique piece of work.
Can I help a student with coursework when they run into difficulty?
Yes. Students can be given guidance on any problems to ensure that the work is kept within reasonable bounds of accuracy.
Where can I get help to mark coursework?
Every year we hold Agreement Trials to advise teachers on how to mark coursework. Full details will be sent your centre. You can also seek guidance from the Chief Moderator.

When are the student coursework mark booklets delivered?
These are sent out to schools at the appropriate time of the year. Alternatively you can download them. We will let you know when they are available. If you do decide to download the mark booklet check that it is the appropriate spreadsheet and database marking sheet.
How much sample coursework do I need to submit for moderation?
We will inform all centres as to what coursework samples are required in April of each year.
