GCSE ICT is comprised of the three interrelated units listed below:
| C1: | Knowledge, Understanding and Skills in Communicating, Handling Information and Modelling |
| C1: | Understanding of ICT Systems in Everyday Life |
| C1: | Implications of ICT for Individuals, Organisations and Society |
Students can sit either the short course (worth ½ a GCSE) or the full course GCSE (worth 1 GCSE). The short course and the full GCSE follow the same unit structure – only the assessment requirements differ. Both of these course options can be taken at either Foundation or Higher Tier. This enables students from a wide ability range to demonstrate achievement. Students entering for Foundation Tier are eligible for the award of grades C-G while students sitting the Higher Tier can achieve grades A*-D.
