Portfolio Consultancy

The Portfolio Consultancy service operates to provide teachers with advice and assurance regarding coursework. Coursework for CCEA’s GCSE Journalism forms 75% of the total assessment. The Portfolio Consultancy service is therefore a very important means of support for teachers of the specification.

In February each year CCEA’s Moderation Section organises the service with centres. Teachers of CCEA’s GCSE Journalism are given the opportunity to submit samples of coursework to the Principal Moderator who provides feedback regarding the suitability of tasks and marking. Comments are forwarded to the centres well in advance of coursework submission dates to facilitate teachers in implementing the Principal Moderator’s guidance.
