Please note that there is no coursework requirement in GCSE Additional Mathematics.

However, students must sit two externally-set written papers. Each lasts two hours and carries a maximum mark of 100. We base the student’s final grade for the course on the two papers’ combined, total mark.

Paper 1 addresses Pure Mathematics.

Paper 2 addresses Applied Mathematics. There are equal numbers of questions addressing Mechanics (50 marks) and Statistics (50 marks).

Students must use a calculator during each examination.
