GCSE Mathematics Two-Tier (Without Coursework)

We first offered this specification as a pilot in September 2005, and first awards were issued in summer 2006. It is now a fully accredited specification available for first teaching in September 2007.

This new GCSE Mathematics Two-Tier specification and the GCSE Mathematics Three-Tier specification present the same content. However, in the new Two-Tier specification, we’ve altered the tiering and the method of assessment.

A major difference from the Three-Tier specification (and the pilot version of the Two-Tier specification) is the removal of the coursework requirement. Consequently, Using and Applying Mathematics and Handling Data are now assessed through the written papers.
