Entry Level in Religious Studies

Our Entry Level Religious Studies qualification is designed for students who typically have not reached Level 3 of the Northern Ireland Curriculum by the end of Key Stage 3 and, for whom GCSE and equivalent vocational qualifications are not considered appropriate.

The specification is suitable for students who have never studied Religious Studies and for students of any religious persuasion or none.

Through Entry Level Religious Studies, students develop knowledge and understanding of religious beliefs, practices and organisations and how they affect behaviour, attitudes and beliefs. They also consider spiritual, moral, ethical, cultural, environmental and citizenship issues and identify, explore and reflect on questions about meaning and purpose in life.

Entry Level Religious Studies can then lead to further learning and qualifications in GCSE or in a related subject
