The GOML scheme for use in continuing education environments (CE GOML) has been developed into nationally accredited qualifications for the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

In addition to being credit-based each of the qualifications is unitised. So, although much of the assessment approach remains familiar, you will notice some changes. First, you will receive separate packets of assessment material for each of the four language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

The second change relates to how we have referred to each of the CE GOML stages or steps. Because we have moved from non-accredited to accredited provision, we now use terminology associated with national qualifications.

The titles we now use are:
Entry level (Entry 2), Entry Level (Entry 3), Level 1 and Level 2. These correspond respectively to the former CE GOML stages 1, 2, 3 and 4. For your ease of reference we have also referred to the new stages as Steps 1,2,3 and 4.
