Assessment Objectives
In Entry Level Technology and Design, students are assessed against two assessment objectives: Designing and Making.
Designing
Students must be able to:
- carry out investigations to help identify needs and opportunities and to provide information to aid the development of solutions;
- develop designs that are realistic, appropriate and achievable and result from a clear specification of their intention or one posed by others;
- evaluate , with help, existing products and/or their own design ideas/proposal to make decisions that are based on their experience; and
- communicate and model ideas using appropriate media and methods as a means of developing and presenting proposals.
Making
Students must be able to:
- use knowledge of materials in selecting, with help, the most appropriate for making their designs;
- display manufacturing capability showing good practical and manipulative skills, appropriate to the focus area studied;
- organise and plan , with help, the designing and making of a product; and
- evaluatetheir own products/processed.
