Amplification of GCSE Unit 4 and Unit 5 Marking Criteria for Technology and Design!
An amplification of the GCSE unit 4 and 5 marking criteria is available for viewing from the CCEA GCSE Technology microsite, Controlled Assessment section.

Teaching support materials for GCE Technology and Design - Now available
We are pleased to inform you of new materials to support your teaching of GCE Technology and Design. You may already be familiar with an exciting new dog-dining ware design which has been produced by a product design company called HugX based in Northern Ireland.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and designers have been working with CCEA and have helped produce our new and innovative industry focused support materials to promote the new product design option for GCE Technology and Design.
A series of comprehensive new vodcasts illustrating the complete product design process from initial concept generation through to product manufacture and distribution are now available for viewing on the CCEA Technology and Design microsite.
We hope that these will prove beneficial to every candidate and teacher of Technology and Design.

Agreement Trials 2011
There will be agreement trials for GCE Technology and Design. AS Technology and Design (AV121) will be held on 20th October. A2 Technology and Design (AV221) will be held on 21st October.
There will also be agreement trials for GCSE Technology and Design Units 4 & Unit 5. These will be held on 17th, 19th and 21st October.
Information has gone out to all centres reagrding these dates, if you have any queries please contact our Moderation team.

GCSE and GCE Technology and Design Agreement Trials
CCEA will be running Agreement trials for GCSE and GCE Technology and Design in the autumn term of 2011. CCEA's moderation department will be sending Nomination forms for Agreement trials to all schools in early September. To guarantee attendance at the Agreement trials teachers must put their names down on these forms.
The purpose of Agreement trials is to illustrate to teachers the controlled assessment standard for the year ahead. These events are also an opportunity for teachers to interact with fellow technology and design teachers, the subject moderation team and subject officer.
