Important Information for Post Primary Centres

Tuesday 16 October 2007

From 1 April 2009 the new Education and Skills Authority (ESA) will bring together within one organisation a number of existing education bodies including CCEA.

All of the main activities and functions currently undertaken by CCEA will be carried forward into ESA.

Central to the process of CCEA’s integration with ESA will be the continuation of all services in relation to examinations.

All of CCEA’s customers will continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to qualifications and examinations related services before, during and after the formation of ESA.

CCEA has recently produced a revised range of GCE specifications and is now reviewing all GCSE specifications. These revised specifications will continue to be offered and supported within ESA.

Revised GCE specifications are in centres now and support events are ongoing.

Revised GCSE specifications will arrive in centres from September 2008.

CCEA’s role as the Northern Ireland examinations awarding body will continue within the new structures of the ESA.

For further information on the revision of CCEA specifications at GCE and GCSE go to the spec-changes website.

If you have any questions in relation to CCEA examinations in light of CCEA’s transition into ESA please email Frances Logue at flogue@ccea.org.uk
