Continuing Professional Development

CCEA’s latest Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course for teachers - Assessing Cross-Curricular Skills at Key Stage 3 - has been voted a big success by participating teachers.
In November 2009, over 300 teachers from 150 schools throughout Northern Ireland registered for the course which was designed specifically for teachers involved in the formal assessment of the Communication and Using Mathematics Cross-Curricular Skills. The course included an introductory workshop and an online course to assist with the development of subject specific assessment activities.
As a result of this successful course, a series of workshops will now be run in April 2010. These workshops will focus on the development of subject specific activities for Cross-Curricular Skills through online discussion within a group, which will last for three weeks (supported by skills mentors). Once the activities have been agreed by the group, the information will be posted on the online gallery as an invaluable school resource for Key Stage 3 teachers.

The workshop was very informative, interactive and set at a pace that was easy to follow.
It was great to share ideas about my subject.
It was an excellent course.
A great help. I now understand what is expected and what work I need to do.
