CCEA Announces Interim Management Arrangements
Monday 28 June 2010
The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) has announced new interim management arrangements.
Acting Chief Executive Neil Anderson has left CCEA after 10 years to take up a new post.
Following discussions between the CCEA Council and the Department of Education, ESA Chief Executive (Designate) Gavin Boyd has been asked to undertake the duties of Chief Executive on an interim basis.
David McKee, Chairman at CCEA said “I would like to thank Neil Anderson for his long and successful service to the organisation. His aim has always been to deliver excellent service and support to students and teachers across Northern Ireland, and I wish him the best of luck in his new role.
I look forward to welcoming Gavin Boyd. His experience of the organisation, and the summer exams season, means he is very well placed to provide stable leadership in ensuring the continued, effective delivery of services to students and teachers during this critical period.
Gavin will undertake the CCEA role in addition to his responsibilities as Chief Executive (Designate) of the Education and Skills Authority (ESA). He will continue to oversee the work of the ESA Implementation Team (ESAIT) and the plans to converge education services in advance of the creation of ESA.
Mr Boyd will assume the interim role at CCEA the week commencing 28 June 2010.
