CCEA easing results day worries

With the issue of this year’s GCE and GCSE results just around the corner, Northern Ireland’s exams body, the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), has launched an examinations helpline and for the first time a comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions online at www.ccea.org.uk to support anxious students, parents and teachers.

The helpline will be in operation from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm week days, from Wednesday 17 until Wednesday 31 August. Anyone with any queries regarding their examination results can call 028 9026 1260 or email helpline@ccea.org.uk for help and guidance on a range of issues.

Martin Quinn , Examinations Administration Manager at CCEA comments:

“We recognise that this can be a stressful time for anyone receiving exam results. Our staff will be on hand to offer teachers, students and their families information, advice and support on a range of issues.

This year we have developed Frequently Asked Questions online to compliment the examinations helpline. The aim behind this valuable tool is to help those who may be worried or confused about their exam results to get answers and information quickly, even out of office hours.

Additionally GCSE Grade Boundary Tables which explain the marks required to achieve each grade will be published online for the first time this year.

We’ll do our best to answer any query and if we can’t, we’ll do our best to put callers in touch with someone who can.

In the meantime I’d like to congratulate this year’s GCSE , AS and A level students on their efforts and wish them good luck with their examination results.”
