CCEA offers help to anxious students
With thousands of local students due to receive their January series GCE and GCSE examination results, Northern Ireland’s exams body, the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), has set up an examinations helpline and for the first time a comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions online at www.ccea.org.uk to support anxious students, parents and teachers.
The helpline will be in operation from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm week days, from Thursday 9 th March until Monday 20 th March. Anyone with any queries regarding their examination results can call 028 9026 1260 or email helpline@ccea.org.uk for help and guidance on a range of issues.
For many students the results they get now will have a strong bearing on the papers they enter for in Summer 2006.
Martin Quinn , Examinations and Assessment Administration Manager at CCEA comments:
“We recognise that receiving exam results can be a stressful time for anyone. Our staff will be on hand to offer teachers, students and their families information, advice and support on a range of issues.
We’ll do our best to answer any query and if we can’t, we’ll do our best to put callers in touch with someone who can.
Additionally anxious students, parents and teachers can access our online Frequently Asked Questions. The aim behind this valuable tool is to help those who may be worried or confused about their exam results to get answers and information quickly, even out of office hours.
In the meantime I’d like to congratulate this year’s students on their efforts and wish them good luck with their examination results.”
