The elite of Northern Ireland ’s GCSE students were honoured today at a special awards ceremony hosted by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA).

The ceremony brings together the top performing students with parents, principals, heads of departments and subject teachers. Representatives from the Education and Library Boards, Department of Education and appropriate subject bodies will also be in attendance.

Alan Lennon, Chairman of CCEA, congratulated the students on their accomplishments, saying:

“Today we are in the company of some very special young people who have reached the highest levels of performance in CCEA GCSE examinations in the highest performing region of the UK . CCEA is delighted to honour their achievements and proud to be associated with the educational excellence they represent. My congratulations go to one and all.
