Help at hand for anxious students and parents
As results day approaches for thousands of the province’s GCE and GCSE students, Northern Ireland ’s exams body, the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), has set up a special helpline service to support anxious students and parents.
The helpline will be in operation from 9.00am until 5.00pm week days, from Wednesday 16 until Wednesday 30 August. Anyone with any queries regarding CCEA’s examination results can call 028 9026 1260, email helpline@ccea.org.uk or log onto the CCEA website www.ccea.org.uk to search for answers from the Frequently Asked Questions section.
Martin Quinn , Examinations Administration Manager at CCEA comments;
“We recognise that this can be a stressful time for anyone receiving exam results. A dedicated team will be on hand to offer teachers, students and their families information, advice and support on a range of issues .
To compliment the examinations helpline we have developed a Frequently Asked Questions online tool. This aims to provide information to those who may be worried or confused about their exam results quickly and out of office hours. This also explains more about CCEA’s unique accelerated re-marking service for GCE students. Students concerned about their result will be able to have their scripts re-marked, if they wish, and a reply provided by 10 September. This is particularly helpful for those who are hoping for university or college places.
We’ll do our best to answer any query and if we can’t, we’ll do our best to put callers in touch with someone who can. In the meantime I’d like to congratulate this year’s GCSE , AS and A level students on their efforts and wish them good luck with their examination results.”
