Northern Ireland Exams Council Rewards Top GCSE Students

Many students from schools and colleges across Northern Ireland and beyond have been rewarded for their outstanding performance in CCEA’s 2007 GCSE examination series.

The Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) hosts the awards at their headquarters in Belfast each year to recognise the extraordinary talents of those pupils who have excelled in their GCSE examinations by achieving first place overall in a range of subjects.

Speaking at the ceremony, CCEA’s Acting Chief Executive Neil Anderson said:

The young people receiving awards here today are an inspiration. They have aimed high and achieved the outstanding results that their talent and potential demanded of them.

Achieving top marks in any examination takes great strength, determination and above all, hard work. These young people have set a benchmark for themselves and for others and I am confident that they will continue to excel in their future studies and careers. I congratulate them all and wish them the best for the future.

CCEA’s Celebrating Excellence GCSE Award Ceremonies took place at CCEA, 29 Clarendon Road, Clarendon Dock, Belfast, on Tuesday 26 February 2008 at 10.00am and 1.30pm.
