Students display unique musical talents at the Waterfront Hall

Bagpipes, accompanied by a Rock Band? That was just one of the musical acts to be seen and heard at the Waterfront Hall on Friday as the best and most entertaining performances from CCEA’s summer 2007 GCSE and AS level music examinations put on a live show.

The annual concert is organised by the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) and sponsored by Dawsons Music, the UK's leading supplier of musical instruments to schools.  Featuring everything from jazz bands to rock bands and classical music to traditional music from schools all over Northern Ireland, the ‘Score’ Concert really is an inspirational show.

Neil Anderson, Acting Chief Executive of CCEA, commented;

Every year I look forward to the Score Concert and am amazed by the talent and confidence demonstrated by our young musicians. They are so disciplined and their performances are superb.

There is a wealth of creativity, diversity and a combination of styles evident within the Score concert programme.  These young performers are an inspiration to any young person interested in music..

William Thompson, Education Manager of Dawsons Music commented;

Dawsons Music has supported CCEA’s Score Concert for many years now. We are proud to be associated with an event that brings together some of Northern Ireland’s finest young musicians and gives them the opportunity to perform live on stage.

Score took place on Friday 18 January in the Studio at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall at 7.30pm.
