2.2 What does U / Q / X / # / † Grade mean?
U |
means ungraded. You have not reached the minimum standard for the examination, have zero marks or were absent. This will not be recorded on your certificate. |
Q |
means query. In order to ensure that the grades issued are correct we have checking mechanisms in place. If any of these show a query regarding the grade then a Q grade is issued while this is being investigated. When we have dealt with the query and we are satisfied that the grade is correct you will be issued with your result. |
X |
means incomplete results, possibly because requirements of the specification have not been met. |
# |
means partial absence and the grade awarded was based only on those examinations which you sat or those components for which coursework was provided. |
† |
means a grade was awarded for the examination although not all of the assessment criteria has been met. |
2.3 On a GCE Statement, what is the letter in brackets beside the uniform marks?
This is the notional grade level achieved in the unit. Details of the relationship between uniform marks and notional grades are available on www.ccea.org.uk. The notional grade is a guide to how you have performed in an individual unit.
2.4 My name has been mis-spelt on my statement of results. Can I get this changed?
Yes, please ask your Examinations Officer at your centre to contact our Entries section to make this change.
