The Entitlement Framework
Meeting the Challenges
The Entitlement Framework requires schools in Northern Ireland to expand their Key Stage 4 and post-16 provision to offer a wider range of options:
- at Key Stage 4, schools must offer 24 subjects, a third of which must be vocational; and
- at post-16, schools must offer 27 subjects, a third of which must also be vocational.
To support schools to meet the Entitlement Framework, CCEA has partnered with Edexcel to offer BTEC Firsts and Nationals for teaching from September 2008.
For those interested in introducing these new qualifications, we will provide a support programme including introductory seminars followed by unit-specific workshops.
We also have a team of staff to support teachers and lecturers – their names and contact details can also be found on our Applied and Vocational Qualifications 2007 - 2009 poster.
If you would like any further information or advice about our new BTEC First and BTEC National qualifications, please contact the ACETS Team on 028 9026 1200 or email: acetsteam@ccea.org.uk
