Using eModeration applications for controlled assessment/coursework is mandatory for some CCEA subjects. Details of the applications used and the process for the mandatory subjects include:
GCSE ICT – (unit 1 and unit 2)
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks.
- Use the Foldermaker application to create the folder structure to save sampled work for burning to DVD.
- Have DVD/report available for collection by CCEA courier on date specified.

GCSE Languages: French, German, Irish and Spanish (unit 1 – speaking tasks)
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks for the recorded and unrecorded task within unit 1. The application will also allow the attachment of an additional information sheet required for the GCSE Speaking tests.
- Use ePortfolio – sample uploads to provide online samples for moderation - recorded task only.

GCSE Gaeilge – (components 1, 2, 4 and 5)
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks. The application will also allow the attachment of an additional information sheet required for the GCSE Gaeilge speaking tests.
- Use ePortfolio – sample uploads to provide online samples for moderation – speaking tasks only (components 1 and 2).
- Receive sampling details via email for (components 4 and 5).
- Have hardcopy sample available for collection by CCEA courier on date specified – written tasks only (components 4 and 5).

GCSE/GCE Moving Image Arts – (GCSE units 1 and 2; GCE AS unit 1; GCE A2 unit 1)
Optional subjects
- Use the eCandidate Record Sheet application to submit marks.
- Receive sampling details via email.
- Submission of hardcopy candidate record sheets not required.
- Have hardcopy samples available for collection by CCEA courier on date specified. NB samples submitted must be labelled with the centre number /candidate number and placed in rank order.
