Entry Level

Entry Level specifications build on the knowledge, understanding and skills developed within key stages 1, 2 and 3. They are designed to be suitable for learners for whom achievement at GCSE is an unrealistic target.

Entry Level Certificates are awarded at Entry 1, Entry 2 and Entry 3, broadly corresponding to Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Northern Ireland Curriculum. The specifications are designed to allow progression to GCSE, GNVQ Foundation and NVQ Level 1 courses in the same, or allied, subjects. Progression opportunities are signposted in each specification.
