Spec changes... CCEA are changing their subject specifications
Newly Revised GCSE Specifications
Our English Literature, English Language, English, Mathematics, Gaeilge and ICT (full and short course) are available for first teaching in September 2010.
Printed copies of the specifications and specimen assessment materials are now with centres. The English specification will be arriving in centres in late August. You can also find them on the Qualifications page and within your subject microsite, which contains all the support for your subject.
Events and support materials
In March 2010, we held 26 specification support events attended by over 600 teachers. These events provided information on the changes we made to our specifications in terms of structure, content, assessment and controlled assessment. We also showcased our specification support package, which includes:
- the revised specification
- the specimen assessment materials
- controlled assessment guidance for teachers *
- controlled assessment guidance for candidates *
- student guides, and
- controlled assessment student guides.
* Mathematics does not have controlled assessment
Controlled assessment support events are being planned for autumn of this year and will soon be added to our online events booking system. Regular updates can be found here.
Making the switch
If you’re planning to deliver the revised specifications, it’s really easy to switch. Why not request a support pack or contact your Specification Support Officer with your questions? Education Managers (listed below) are also available to visit you in your centre to discuss any aspect of the revised specifications.
