Revised Entry Level in Geography

Our Entry Level Geography qualification allows learners opportunities to build on knowledge, skills and capabilities developed in Geography at Key Stage 3.

Studying this specification gives learners the opportunity to learn more about the environment, the ways in which people and environment interact, the importance of sustainable development in those interactions and the opportunities, challenges and constraints that face people in different places.

Learners will also have the opportunity to apply their learning in a practical context in each unit, both inside and outside of the classroom. For example, in Unit 1: Changeable Weather, they can use weather instruments such as: thermometer, rain gauge and wind vane to record elements of the weather.

This Entry Level specification provides opportunities to study topics and themes in both physical and human geography and develops skills to prepare learners for working and adult life. The qualification can aid learners who may decide to study geography and related courses at a higher level.
