Entry Level ICT
Our Entry Level Information and Communication Technology (ICT) qualification is designed for students who typically have not reached Level 3 of the Northern Ireland Curriculum at the end of Key Stage 3 or for whom GCSE and equivalent vocational qualifications are not considered appropriate.
This award encourages progression to higher level qualifications in the same or related subject and is flexible, making it suitable for a broad range of students with different needs, interests and aspirations.
Through Entry Level ICT, students learn how to gather, store, process and present info rmation. Students also learn how to use ICT to solve simple problems using appropriate techniques, hardware and software.
ICT helps students develop:
- a basic understanding of the wider applications and effects of ICT, with particular reference to the world of work;
- problem-solving skills that can be used across the entire curriculum; and
- the ability to think creatively and imaginatively.
